Today’s meeting was led by President‑Elect Wayne Kinney, since President Erin Dobbins and Treasurer Tammy Bonifield are in Cancun soaking up the sun and learning new ways to become more effective Rotarians. Two special guests at today’s meeting were Kathleen Pierz and Cheryl Sheffer. 9th Annual Livonia Good Old-Fashioned Neighborhood Corn Roast
The 9th Annual Good Old‑Fashioned Neighborhood Corn Roast was a terrific success. Several service clubs were on hand to treat the residents of Livonia and nearby communities to complimentary hot dogs, corn on the cob, soft drinks, and water. The event ran from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Club Assembly
Our club assembly opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and a meditative thought by Victoria Haltom. We had two visitors today: Kathleen Pierz from Shelter Box and volunteer corps member Mike DeMott, who is currently helping the club with weed‑pulling at Greenmead. We did not meet on Zoom today. Strengthening Community, One Block Party at a Time
Steve Spreitzer of the Interfaith Leadership Council presented to our club in the spring. I signed up for their program, Bridging to Belonging, and completed the eight‑week program this summer.
